John R. "John Boy" Carlson, age 66, of Beavercreek, OH, passed away Thursday, March 29, 2018.  He was born April 14, 1951, in Creston, IA, the son of Col. Robert E. and Margaret V. (Fils) Carlson. He was preceded in death by his father.

John is survived by his wife, Sandra (Stephens) Carlson, whom he married July 3, 2007; his mother, Margaret Carlson; brothers, Steve (FBHS-73) (Debbie) Carlson of Tipp City, OH; James Carlson of Huber Heights, OH; Mark (FBHS-76) (Kathy) Carlson of Stow, OH; step-daughter: Jessica Tudor, TX; two grandchildren, Morgan and Trever; mother-in-law, JoAnn Stephens; sisters-in-law, Bonnie Hussey and Patricia Holley; brother-in-law, Billy Stephens; numerous nieces and nephews; and many dear friends.

A simple man and a hard worker, John was a loving husband and good provider. He retired from the Bath Township Road Department. John enjoyed fishing and was an avid motorcycle enthusiast, who enjoyed going on rides with his wife and buddies. His passing is a tremendous loss for everyone who knew him.
