Mike and I were neighbors going through High School. He was a good friend and a great person. We even shared the same birthday. Mike will surely be missed!

Very sorry to hear this news -- it proves the maxim that 'only the good die young', because Mike truly is one of the good guys.  Latin classes were very small -- never more than a dozen of us, and often fewer -- so Mike and I were never sitting far from each other.  I can still see the look on his face when he was thinking something that he wasn't sure he should say, and then he would go ahead and say it -- and it was inevitably both humorous and thoughtful, no matter what the topic.   Condolences to his family and all who knew him --
